The term global brand, I believe, refers to a product(s) that is internationally known, supplied, and used. For example, one such brand would be Coca cola. Distribution of this brand is world-wide and the name is recognized almost everywhere. I've always found the path to reach such success with a given brand name to be incredibly interesting and somewhat difficult to understand. Global brands, however, are an important part of the international business sector. They create trading opportunities and promote a 'flatter', to quote Friedman's concept, world.
